In 2002, Lawrence took the experience he gained in the Navy and put it to good use as the controller for Industrial Corrosion Control, Inc. in Gulfport, Mississippi, an industry leader in industrial coatings application, and wonderful company to work for. He was a natural for management and accounting and made a new home and career with old friends, but as much as he enjoyed it, there was always something missing. In 2015, he turned to his passion for writing and found the journey into the world of story telling exciting and rewarding. Writing became the adventure his restless spirit needed. It has been said, "Sailors belong on ships, and ships belong at sea." Though he no longer sailed the oceans blue in search of adventure, his imagination took him places he could only dream of.

ublished his first book, Alien Within, a story of a man forced to face mortality while experiencing a myriad of unexplainable occurrences involving angels, aliens, and gods. Alien Within was written as a standalone novel, but it created a backdrop and inspiration for much more. He published a second edition of Alien Within with a new publisher in 2018. He later adopted a more contemporary style of writing to write the four subsequent novels: A Remarkable Curse, Beyond Providence, Tricentennial, and Gods of Tomorrow, which would come to be known as Alien Odyssey, an epic saga of how aliens helped save humanity from extinction. In 2020, he changed publishers, and genres, and wrote the suspenseful thriller, The Harem, followed by V is for Vivian in 2021. Vivian's story is one of vengeance and justice. Regardless of the genre, character development became a hallmark of Lawrence's writing as they come to life and pull the reader into the story.

While on his many voyages during his early Navy years, to pass the time, he dabbled in poetry and song writing as a hobby. That hobby would resurface later in his life to fuel a new passion for expressing life through poem. After publishing his seventh book, V is for Vivian, he returned to poetry and found inspiration everywhere. In this age of technology and desire for immediate gratification, fewer people read for entertainment. For those who still appreciate reading a well-told tale, Lawrence presents them with literary treasures. In addition to his novels, his poems and observations have drawn a new group of readers from all walks of life. He found poetic inspiration from a wide variety of poets and with many styles, Lawrence provides a little something for everyone. You will never tire of reading a good poem over and over again.
